The kids and I were hanging out and they were both in the mood for some crafting (that never happens). I quickly grabbed a few things and we started on a quick, easy, and inexpensive craft to spruce up our Halloween {or lack of Halloween} decor!
This is surely not a craft that will get me into the Crafting Hall of Fame…BUT it was fun, the kids helped, and it looks spooky-fun! {And I have been loving all the eyeball decor I have seen!}
Supplies
- Repurposed Jars – I used jelly jars, relish jars and some mason jars…all clean of course! And labels removed if necessary.
- DecoArt Gloss enamels in red, black and white
- Paint brush
- Votive candles
- PK Glitz, Silver
- Gorilla Glue Wood Glue
- Child-like Imagination
DIY IT
Candles:
- Clean jars
- Paint eye using white gloss enamel on jar…some jars got one eye, some two…and I suppose you could even do three! Let dry.
- Paint pupil on using black. Let dry.
- Give him bloodshot eyes by adding little red squiggles.
Votives
- Place glitter on paper plate.
- Paint gorilla glue on metal portion of candle.
- Roll candle in the glitter.
- Let dry.
I added some dried black beans into each jar and then nestled the votive in those.
While this may not be the fanciest crafts, I loved it because it made the kiddos smile {and me too!)
