I started by using a tape measure to find the center of the door. I eyeballed taping the “GYM” adhesive vinyl to the door, then used the tape measure to confirm it was centered. I had to move it a few times to get it just right. I used a level to make sure it was…well, level!

Using the tape as a hinge, I flipped up the vinyl and pulled off the back sheet. I slowly folded it back down contacting the center section first.

I used the plastic card to smooth out the adhesive from the center point out to each side. I went over it several times to make sure the adhesive was thoroughly adhered. Then I grabbed the corner and slowly pulled the top sheet off. TIP: Keep the paper close right next to the surface, so you reduce the likelihood of the letters pulling away.

Then I added an inspirational quote to one of the mirrors. I special ordered it to match one of the Design Divas standard quotes that I already have in the space.

The photo below shows you what I mean about keeping the paper next to the surface while pulling it off. And remember to go slowly!
