Glitter Globe Pedestals by Roeshel

by Roeshel on November 17, 2010

Looking for easy an DIY holiday decorating idea?  These glitter globe pedestals add a touch of sparkle!

Materials:

Glass ornaments
Thrift store glass/crystal candlesticks
Deco Art Americana Gloss Enamel paint, Glamour Dust and Americana Clear Medium
PK Glitz Glitter Glitz
Optional:  Filler (Roeshel used faux pine and faux snow)
Instructions:

1.  Mix 1 part  Deco Art Gloss Enamel with 1 equal part Deco Art Clear Medium.
2.  Paint design onto glass ornament and let it dry.
3.  Add PK Glitz Glitter Dust and optional pieces as desired.  I used Peppermint Twist Glitter Glitz.
4.  Mix Gorilla Glue Epoxy as directed.  Work quickly with this step!
5.  Apply to top of candlestick and opening of ornament.
6.  Place ornament opening into candlestick (it’s okay if glitter falls into the hole too).  Hold for a few minutes until glue sets.
7.  Let dry.
8.  Decorate!  PK Glitz Glitter Dust is extra fine.  Shake the globe (gently!) and it sticks to the glass on the inside of the ornament.  I’m not so sure that regular glitter would do this.
