GrandParents’ gift by Maryann

by Maryann on December 27, 2011

Hi Guys & Merry Christmas!  I’m so excited to share with you the gift I made for my parents.

A cute way to display photos of their 9 grandkiddos.

Here’s what I used:

piece of plywood

Ten23 Design’s “Count Your Blessings” vinyl

DecoArt Americana Satin Enamels in Soft White

espresso brown acrylic pain

paint brush

Canvas Corp’s mini clothespins in black

Gorilla’s Super Glue

Start by giving your wood a coat of the creamy white paint.

Then while the soft white paint was still wet I put a few drops of the espresso brown paint in various spots and then just brushed it around, blending it to the lightness you want.

Once the paint had dried I laid out the Ten23 vinyl.

Once laid out, I used a piece of painter’s tape to secure the pieces in place.  Then I peeled off the backing of the vinyl and pressed it onto the wood.  I rubbed on top of the vinyl with a regular screwdriver to make sure it adhered to the textured plywood.

Then peel off the clear top layer.

Then with Gorilla’s Super Glue I adhered the Canvas Corp’s mini clothespins in black.

They can easily add and change out photos of the grandkids with the clothespins.

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas!
