Hi. My name is Cassie and I am a hoarder. I love anything vintage. Vintage books. Vintage linens. Vintage owl figurines. Vintage brass items. Vintage furniture. It’s becoming a problem, and it’s time to do something about it….
I recently discovered I had a large stack of vintage sheets. I had been collecting more than I realized. Oops. So what’s a girl to do? Well, naturally, go to pinterest and start searching for crafty vintage sheet ideas! I found this amazing wreath that inspired my own. This is my inspiration….
Isn’t that just so happy and fun! Most of my sheets were not as colorful, so I selected one sheet for the wreath, and another plus yellow gingham for the rosettes. So my supplies consisted of…
Hot Glue Gun and Glue
vintage sheets: for the wreath I cut strips in 3″ width, for the rosettes about 1.5″ width and about 20″ length
felt cut into 1.5″ diameter circles to back the rosettes (you will not see this so the color is not that important)
ribbon for hanging
All I did was wrap the wreath with my sheet strips. I used a total of 3 1/2 strips (from a full sheet cut vertically). Once I had it entirely wrapped I hot clued my end down. I saved that section of the wreath to be where I tied my ribbon to hang so it wouldn’t be noticeable.
Once that was done, I made 3 rosettes, using this tutorial, except I glued my flowers onto felt circles. Then I glued the flowers where I wanted them on the wreath. Finally, I tied my ribbon and hung my wreath from a screw that was already in my door.
And hey, lookie there. Did you notice a sneak peek of my door…. I have been painting it.
